ARRAY Technologies, a solar tracker manufacturer, is launching Atlas, a next-generation infrastructure to tracker solution suite designed for ARRAY trackers and APA Solar Racking.

Atlas I is designed for standard soil conditions, connecting the driven foundation (shortened W-beams or sigma piles) to the tracker through adjustable rolling steel C-channels and bearing interfaces. By adjusting its vertical C-shaped channel, slight deviations in the height of the foundation can be corrected. Atlas I shortens the depth of penetration into the foundation and separates the foundation from the tracker interface.

Atlas II is designed to cope with challenging soil conditions by using foundations such as spiral piles or ground screws that have dual leg support and load-bearing capacity. This reduces the number of connection points compared to the APA A-Frame foundation. This also gives the system greater adjustability in both vertical and east-west directions.

For decades, developers have relied on commodity steel piles that were never designed as part of tracking systems, "said Josh Von Deylen, CEO of APA Solar, which is part of ARRAY. Atlas has changed this by combining the foundation and tracker interface into a dedicated solution, helping customers install faster, procure more efficiently, and execute projects with greater confidence.
